Welcoming 2013

Hi there my dear friends! Happy New Year!! How did you welcome 2013? I got the privilege to take some lovely time off with Richard. No phone, no internet, no people, no nothing... It was such a blessing! I'm starting the year with a major boost.

Hola queridas ¡¡Feliz año nuevo!! ¿Cómo recibieron el 2013? Yo tuve la oportunidad de salir de paseo con Richard. Sin cel, sin internet, sin gente, sin nada...Fue una bendición! Estoy empezando el año con un subidón de primera.

It was a quiet and soulful retreat for the both of us...we finally got to travel alone! And we were truly alone at some point cause there were no other guests staying in these cabins. Just the two of us, some people came to eat but no sleep overs.

Fue un descanso silencioso y maravilloso para los dos...por fin pudimos viajar solos! Y realmente estuvimos solos en un momento porque no había nadie más quedándose en estas cabañas. Sólo nosotros dos, llegó gente a comer pero no a dormir.

We thought a bit about 2012 before welcoming the New Year. We reflected on all the good things that happened to us, but also on the lessons we had learned.

Reflexionamos un poco sobre el 2012 antes de darle la bienvenida al nuevo año. Pensamos en todas las cosas buenas que nos pasaron y también en las lecciones que aprendimos.

We laughed and enjoyed like kids. And Ricardo made some terrible pictures of me that just weren't blog-worthy. 

Nos reímos a tope, disfrutamos como escuincles, y Ricardo tomó unas fotos fatales de mí que simplemente no eran dignas de ser blogueadas.

We walked and were delighted by nature's goodness...

Caminamos y disfrutamos de las bondades de la naturaleza...

and met some interesting people along the way.

y nos topamos con personas interesantes en el camino.

We gave ourselves a romantic new years eve...

Nos regalamos una noche romántica para despedir el año...

and did some rustic cooking in the fireplace.

y cocinamos a lo rústico en la chimenea.

I knitted and knitted under the winter sunshine...

Yo tejí y tejí bajo el sol de invierno...

And we set ourselves for the new adventures that stand before us.

Y nos preparamos para las nuevas aventuras que nos esperan.

We know it's not always be gonna be easy...

Sabemos que no siempre será fácil...

But we'll figure it out together....

Pero ya nos las arreglaremos juntos...

I'm wishing you all the best for this New Year! May we have the peace of mind we need to welcome this new era, may our beautiful souls shine more than ever! 'Cause... you know something? 

2013 is just gonna be incredible!

Les deseo lo mejor de lo mejor este nuevo año! Que tengamos la paz interior que necesitamos para recibir esta nueva era y que nuestras almas brillen más que nunca! Porque ¿saben qué?

¡Hola! Ya ha pasado un poco más de una semana que a la costa caribeña. No saben qué colores tan increíbles tiene el mar; hice un collar el otro día y sin querer me salió la inspiración marina a todo lo que da. Les pongo algunas fotos... Espero que les guste.

Hi! It's been over a week since I arrived to the Caribbean Seaside. You can't imagine the amazing colors of the ocean; I made a necklace the other day, and the seaside inspiration just bursted out without me even noticing. I took some pictures, ... I hope you like it.

Aquí está el outfit completo. Desde que llegué mi pelo es un desastre, la sal y la humedad lo han convertido en un monstruo ingobernable, ya lleva 10 días de anarquía total. Ya dejé de luchar con él, lo dejo que se esponje y se enrede felizmente.

Here is the full outfit for today. My hair has been a disaster since I arrived here, the salty water and the humidity have turned it into an uncontrollable monster, it's been 10 days of total anarchy. I stopped fighting with it, I let it sponge and get meshed happily.

En el mar la vida es más sabrosa...

Por fin llegué a casa de mis padres ayer. Hoy tuve un lindo día, disfruté la vista al mar, aproveché para tomar algunas fotos, salí a caminar en la arena......Me desperté y estaba nublado, pero luego salió el sol y me dio un gusto ver el mar que no se imaginan, la vida en el mar es más sabrosa. Por eso me inspiré y les hice este fondo de computadora (wallpaper) para descargar.

I finally arrived at my parents house yesterday. I had a nice day today, I enjoyed the ocean view, took some photos, went out for a walk on the beach....It was very cloudy when I woke up, but then the sun came out and you can't imagine how glad I was to see the ocean....Life is beautiful with an ocean view. I got inspired and made this wallpaper for you to download.

It rains! / ¡Llueve!

Hello everybody....It rains! At home it rains! And a lot! You can't imagine how happy I am right now 'cause we were having a really nasty heat in here and this storm is so refreshing :) Oh, beautiful rain...though it might be too much,I hope we don't get a flooding down the Atoyac river.

No se pueden imaginar lo feliz que estoy en este momento porque hemos tenido un calor inmundo últimamente y esta tormenta es taan refrescante :) Lluvia hermosa....aunque tal vez es demasiado, espero que no se nos inunde allá abajo el río Atoyac.

You might have noticed I changed the blog design a little bit. Banner and background were changed. Sometimes I get a bit bored of things and I wanted to do a nice banner for my Etsy shop so I did it as well for the blog. This is my shops new banner....

Seguro se dieron cuenta de que cambié el diseño del blog un poco. El banner y el fondo cambiaron. A veces me aburro un poco de las cosas y además quería hacer un buen banner para mi tienda en Etsy así que de paso hice uno para el blog. Este es el nuevo banner de mi tienda...

I wanted to put this one in here too, but it's really thin and looks a bit wierd....I'm still thinking about it..I don't know.

Yesterday my friend Justine went to Belgium to visit her family and took some of my stuff to show (and hopefully sell aswell). She wanted to take cards from my shop to give away so I made some too.

Quería poner éste mismo aquí pero es muy delgado y se ve medio raro...Todavía lo estoy pensando...no lo sé.

Ayer mi amiga Justine se fue a Bélgica a ver a su familia y se llevó algunas cosas mías para mostrar (y espero que vender también). Se quería llevar unas tarjetas de la tienda para dar a sus conocidos así que hice unas también.

¡Preparando la Rifa! / Preparing the Raffle!

¡Hola! ¿Que tal su día? Yo he estado disfrutando de una mañana tranquila, bien rico y a gusto aquí en mi terraza....y para presumirles, miren lo que tengo enfrente:

Hello! How's your day going? I've been enjoying a relaxed morning, nice and calm here in my terrace....and just to show of a little bit...look what's in front of me:

Seguro afuera el sol está insoportable, pero aquí el clima está muy agradable y no me dan ganas de moverme de la terraza. Es mi lugar favorito de la casa, bueno en realidad es el único espacio que vale la pena enseñarles ahora, lo demás está  desordenado, deprimente, mal construido, no quiero ni verlo menos bonito...ya tengo 1 año y cuatro meses rentando esta casa y me seguiré quedando aquí sólo por esta vista de la que no me canso nunca...

The sun is surely unbearable outside, but the climate here is very nice. I don't feel like moving from this terrace. It's my favorite spot at home, well it's the only one worth showing now, the rest is untidy, badly built, depressing, don't even wanna look at it  less pretty...I've been renting this house for a year and 4 months, and I'm staying here just because of this view I never get tired of...

¡¡Por cierto hoy se acaba la RIFA!! ¡Tienen hasta la noche (horario de México, no tengo ni la más remota idea de que zona es) para participar! Ya empecé a apuntar los nombres de quienes han participado hasta ahora, les estoy asignando un número y después creo que usaré uno de esos programas que te dan números aleatorios para escoger al ganador (más seguro la ganadora). 

By the way, the GIVEAWAY ends tonight! (Mexico time, don't have a clue what zone it is). There are detailed instructions on how enter the giveaway in this post . I've started to wite down the names of those who are already in, I'm asigning them a number and then I think I'll use one of those random number generators to choose the winner.

Aunque la idea de los papelitos en el sombrero me hace un poco de ilusión también...ya lo pensaré en el día...por lo pronto ¡me voy!, que tengo que arreglar mi también mal construido, desordenado, no quiero ni verlo, estudio. 

The idea of putting little papers in a hat seems also propper to me though...I'll pick a method throughout the day....but for now, I must leave! I have to organize my also badly buit, untidy, don't even waana look at it studio.

My first lapghan / Mi primera manta

¡Hola a tod@s! ¿Como andan? Yo tuve una semana medio ocupada (abril ha estado loco)...¡pero hoy por fin tuve tiempo de tomar unas fotos y escribir! ¡Estoy feliz! He extrañado escribir más seguido, espero que la siguiente semana esté un poco más relajada.

Hello everybody! How you doing? I had a busy week (april has been a crazy month)...but today I finally got the time to take some pics and write! I'm so happy! I've been missing posting often, I hope next week will be a little bit more relaxed.

Hoy les quiero enseñar unas fotos de mi mantita en proceso, está creciendo muy poco a poquito pero me está gustando mucho, especialmente los colores. Ya les había enseñado mi inicio en este post. Es la primer manta que hago, normalmente hago proyectos más cortos, joyería y cosas así...pero sentí que ya era tiempo de que intentara una manta...

Today I wanna show you some photos of my lapghan process, it's been growing very slowly but I'm loving it, specially the colors. I showed you my start in this post. It's the first lapghan I make, I usally do quicker proyects,  jewelry and stuff like that...but it was time for me to try a lapghan...

Como podrán ver, mi manta aún está bastante pequeñita...Estoy uniendo los cuadrados en zig zag pero todavía no llego a la mitad, aún tengo que unir como 4 lineas más para empezar a decrecer el número de cuadritos.

As you can see my lapghan is still quite small... I'm doing a zig zag joining and I haven't reached the middle yet, I still need to join 4 more rows and then I'll start decreasing the number of squares.

Mimiri andaba por ahí así que esto terminó convirtiéndose en una sesión fotográfica gatuna también...

Mimiri was there, so it kinda became a cat photoshooting aswell...

A Mimiri parece que le gusta...estaba ahí muy agusto echadota junto a la manta....

Miren ese bostezo por favor!

Es un poco asustador, ¿no? Parece una pequeña gata vampiro con esos colmillos...¿Ya les había dicho que Ricardo le dice el gaturciélago o batcat? Dice que parece murciélago...Yo digo que está bien linda ¿no lo creen? No había aparecido en los posts ultimamente así que por favor aguanten mi lapsus de adoración al gato.

It's a bit frightening, isn't it? She looks like a little vampire cat with those teeth...have I told you that Ricardo calls her batcat? He says she looks like a bat....I think she looks lovely...doesn't she? She hadn't appeared in the blog lately so please bear with my cat worshiping lapsus.

Bueno, me tengo que ir. Por cierto la buena noticia de que haya estado ocupada esta semana es que alargué la rifa hasta el próximo martes 24, así que todavía pueden participar. La primavera está por llegar y yo  me estoy inspirando con las flores que empiezan a salir, con los colores, los pájaros...yel solecito de la mañana que pronto pasa a ser un pinche solazo para finalmente convertirse en un inmundo calor insoportable...

 Springtime's about to arrive and I'm getting inspired by the flowers that are blooming, colors, birds... and the morning sunshine that soon turns into a freakin burning sun to finaly become a damn unberable heat!

Pero bueno, ahora he hecho estos broches para el pelo con el patrón Puffy Daisy de Cécile de Eclectic Gipsyland, para disfrutar de los colores que marzo empieza a traer consigo....Quiero pedir una disculpa porque antes no había incluido el link al patrón de Cécile, siempre lo hago, pero esta vez se me pasó, perdón Cécile.

But well, now I've done these hair brooches with the pattern Puffy Daisy of Cécile from Eclectic Gipsyland to enjoy the colors that march is starting to bring...I want to apologize because I didn't put the link to Cécil's pattern before, I always do it but this time I forgot, sorry Cécile.

Y la buena noticia del día.....En el Mercado Maravillas se va a rifar un vale de 300 Maravedíes. El Maravedí es la moneda del Mercado Maravillas y equivale a 1 peso, así que el vale es por 300 pesos, sí...¡300 pesos! para gastar como se le plazca a quien gane en los puestos del Mercado. Los dejo con esta buena noticia, ¡no se pierdan la RIFA quienes estén en Oaxaca! y que tengan un buen inicio de marzo, no demasiado caluroso en sus lugares por que acá...uff.....si esto está así  y apenas empieza marzo, es probable que para mediados de abrial yo ya haya muerto por sofocamiento.
