Hi! I'm so excited! Remember I told you I won a Zsazsazsu giveaway? Well, today my present arrived all the way from Belgium!! I was thrilled when I received the package in my door. And was more thrilled while opening it.

Neon, neon, neon!

Hello lovely people! How are you doing today? I wanna show you my latest necklace, The Neon Dots Necklace....I have a bit of a neon osession lately...


¡Hola! ¿Cómo les trata la vida hoy? Yo quiero enseñarles mi último collar, el Collar de Lunares Neon (¿?).....Últimamente tengo una leve obsesión por los colores fosforescentes (neon).

The black part is crocheted with cotton yarn

La parte negra es crochet, y está hecha con hilaza de algodón.

And the dots are little neon pompons... :)!

¡Preparando la Rifa! / Preparing the Raffle!

¡Hola! ¿Que tal su día? Yo he estado disfrutando de una mañana tranquila, bien rico y a gusto aquí en mi terraza....y para presumirles, miren lo que tengo enfrente:

Hello! How's your day going? I've been enjoying a relaxed morning, nice and calm here in my terrace....and just to show of a little bit...look what's in front of me:

Seguro afuera el sol está insoportable, pero aquí el clima está muy agradable y no me dan ganas de moverme de la terraza. Es mi lugar favorito de la casa, bueno en realidad es el único espacio que vale la pena enseñarles ahora, lo demás está  desordenado, deprimente, mal construido, no quiero ni verlo menos bonito...ya tengo 1 año y cuatro meses rentando esta casa y me seguiré quedando aquí sólo por esta vista de la que no me canso nunca...

The sun is surely unbearable outside, but the climate here is very nice. I don't feel like moving from this terrace. It's my favorite spot at home, well it's the only one worth showing now, the rest is untidy, badly built, depressing, don't even wanna look at it  less pretty...I've been renting this house for a year and 4 months, and I'm staying here just because of this view I never get tired of...

¡¡Por cierto hoy se acaba la RIFA!! ¡Tienen hasta la noche (horario de México, no tengo ni la más remota idea de que zona es) para participar! The idea of putting little papers in a hat seems also propper to me though...I'll pick a method throughout the day....but for now, I must leave! I have to organize my also badly buit, untidy, don't even waana look at it studio.

¡Hola a tod@s! ¿Como andan? Yo tuve una semana medio ocupada (abril ha estado loco)...¡pero hoy por fin tuve tiempo de tomar unas fotos y escribir! ¡Estoy feliz! He extrañado escribir más seguido, espero que la siguiente semana esté un poco más relajada.

Hello everybody! How you doing? I had a busy week (april has been a crazy month)...but today I finally got the time to take some pics and write! I'm so happy! I've been missing posting often, I hope next week will be a little bit more relaxed.

Hoy les quiero enseñar unas fotos de mi mantita en proceso, está creciendo muy poco a poquito pero me está gustando mucho, especialmente los colores. Ya les había enseñado mi inicio en este post. Es la primer manta que hago, normalmente hago proyectos más cortos, joyería y cosas así...pero sentí que ya era tiempo de que intentara una manta...

Today I wanna show you some photos of my lapghan process, it's been growing very slowly but I'm loving it, specially the colors. I showed you my start in this post. It's the first lapghan I make, I usally do quicker proyects,  jewelry and stuff like that...but it was time for me to try a lapghan...

Como podrán ver, mi manta aún está bastante pequeñita...Estoy uniendo los cuadrados en zig zag pero todavía no llego a la mitad, aún tengo que unir como 4 lineas más para empezar a decrecer el número de cuadritos.

As you can see my lapghan is still quite small... I'm doing a zig zag joining and I haven't reached the middle yet, I still need to join 4 more rows and then I'll start decreasing the number of squares.

Mimiri andaba por ahí así que esto terminó convirtiéndose en una sesión fotográfica gatuna también...

Mimiri was there, so it kinda became a cat photoshooting aswell...

A Mimiri parece que le gusta...estaba ahí muy agusto echadota junto a la manta....

Miren ese bostezo por favor!

Mimiri seems to like it...she was very pleased lying there next to the lapghan...

Look at that yawning please! 

Es un poco asustador, ¿no? Parece una pequeña gata vampiro con esos colmillos...¿Ya les había dicho que Ricardo le dice el gaturciélago o batcat? Dice que parece murciélago...Yo digo que está bien linda ¿no lo creen? No había aparecido en los posts ultimamente así que por favor aguanten mi lapsus de adoración al gato.

It's a bit frightening, isn't it? She looks like a little vampire cat with those teeth...have I told you that Ricardo calls her batcat? He says she looks like a bat....I think she looks lovely...doesn't she? She hadn't appeared in the blog lately so please bear with my cat worshiping lapsus.

Bueno, me tengo que ir. Por cierto la buena noticia de que haya estado ocupada esta semana es que alargué la rifa hasta el próximo martes 24, así que todavía pueden participar. Hoy sólo quiero compartirles tres DIY (Do it Yourself-Hágalo usted mismo) que encontré esta semana en Pinterest...Trataré de hacerme algo de tiempo para hacerlos...Me encanta encontrarme con este tipo de tutoriales increíbles en internet, lo malo es que rara vez tengo tiempo de hacerlos, me temo que mi obsesión crocheteril no me deja mucho tiempo libre...pero soy una optimista de los domingos. Les dejo estos para el fin de semana.

Today I'm just gonna share 3 DIY's I found this week on Pinterest....I'll try to make me some time to do them...I love finding these kind of fabulous tutorials on the internet but the sad thing is I hardly have the time to actually do them, my crochet obsession doesn't leave me much spare time I guess....but I'm optimistic about sundays. I'll let you with these ones for the weekend.

But what about these Sock Monsters at favecrafts.com?! They're easy to make and so funny, great for keeping the kids busy...don't you think?

Y para terminar el post...un saco térmico con arroz y lavanda en Decoratrix. Tengo lavanda en casa y creo que éste sería un buen proyecto para empezar a usar mi máquina de coser....Les tengo que confesar que la máquina me asusta un poco, pero el jueves viene alguien a ayudarme con mi fobia a la costura, me temo que lo que más me asusta es que veo venir una potencial obsesión nueva...No se si pueda manejarlo, tal vez termine sepultada bajo ganchos, lanas, ovillos, hilos y retazos de tela...sólo espero poder coser una linda manta decorativa para mi funeral, con un bonito patchwork que diga RIP. 

And to end this post...a thermal bag with rice and lavander at Decoratrix. I have a lavander at home and I think this would be a nice project to start using my sewing machine... The machine scares me a bit I must confess, but on thursday someone's comming to help me out with my sewing phobia. I'm afraid what scares me the most is I see a potential new obsession comming... I don't know if I can manage it, I might end up burried under hooks, wool, yarn balls, floss and scraps of fabric, I only hope I manage to quilt a nice decorative blanket for my funeral, with a beautiful RIP patchwork on it.

Bueno, espero no morir en mi primer encuentro con la máquina de coser... y que ustedes intenten alguno de estos tutoriales. Ah, y ¡¡no se les olvide que la Rifa sigue abierta hasta el próximo martes!! Anímate, ¡podría ser la de la suerte! :) ¡Nos vemos!

I really find it amazing that so many people just stitched something for a complete stranger and mailed it to wherever that stranger lives....I'm glad I finally recieved mine...and guess what...it's Mimiri inspired...THANK YOU ELLYN!

Ahora cuelga en la esquina especial donde a Mimiri le gusta dormir...tiene una canasta calientita y esas son las paredes oficiales de la casa para el "amor al gato"...¡Me gusta tanto mi intercambio! Se siente bonito recibir algo que fue especialmente hecho para ti...además amo el correo tradicional.

It now hangs in the special corner where Mimiri likes to sleep...she has a cozy basket and those are the official cat love walls at home...I like my swap so much!! It's a lovely feeling to recieve something made specially for you, besides... I really love traditional mail.

A shaky week! / ¡Una semana movida!

¡Hola a tod@s! Esta semana que pasó estuve un poco ausente pero es que fue una semana muy movida.

Antes que nada muchas gracias a quienes me mandaron correos o comentarios para preguntarme por el temblor...la verdad sí se sintió muy fuerte aquí en Oaxaca pero no hubo daños graves, al menos en la ciudad, en mi colonia no pasó nada...¡nada más nos dió un sustote!

Hi everyone! This last week I was absent but it's beacuse it was such a shaky week! First of all thank's to those who sent an email or comment asking about the eatrhquake....it did felt quite strongly here in Oaxaca but there was no serious damage, at least in the city, in my neighbourhood everything's ok....it just scared us a lot!

Hello! As you may have noticed in my sidebar, i'm in Wild Olive's Stitch Swap. We are all sending happy embroidery mail arround the world. Mine is done and I'm sending it tomorrow since today's a holiday in Mexico and the post office is closed! I'm not really an embroiderer but I love to stitch and I had a lot of fun doing this. ¡Hola a tod@s! ¿Cómo empieza su semana? Yo tuve un lindo y tranquilo fin de semana...no hice gran cosa así que ahora tengo bastante energía para empezar este lunes. Por cierto, estoy impresionada por la popularidad del Granny Poncho Pattern, espero que mi escritura de patrones tenga sentido y que lo intenten algún día de estos.
Hoy les quiero enseñar 5 collares que hice hace algún tiempo...


Hello everyone! How's your week starting? I had a nice, relaxing weekend...didn't do much, so now I have plenty of energy to start this monday. By the way, I'm impressed by the popularity of the Granny Poncho Pattern, I hope my pattern-writting makes sense and you give it a try someday. Today I wanna show you 5 necklaces I made some time ago...

Primero, el collar arcoiris, éste ya se los había enseñado pero no tenía una foto con modelo. El collar arcoiris se fue a Puebla, un hombre lo compró para su novia. ¡Buen regalo! :)

Fisrt of all, the rainbow necklace, I showed you this one a while ago, but I did't have a try on photo. The rainbow necklace has gone to Puebla, a guy bought it for his girlfriend. Quite a gift! :)

Ahora les presento este collar coralino rosa. También se ha ido...

Now I present you this pink coral-like necklace. Also gone...

Y ahora sí, mi favorito de todos los tiempos....El loopy collar (no sé como traducir esto)

Now, my all time favorite.... The loopy necklace.

Estoy muy contenta de que este se haya ido con alguien que conozco, Martha. Ella es una antigua compañera de yoga que no había visto hace mucho tiempo, pero de pronto llegó a la última venta y amorosamente se llevó mi collar favorito a casa. ¡Estoy feliz de que ella sea la afortunada dueña del loopy collar!

I'm very glad this one ended up with someone I know, Martha. She's a former yoga classmate, we hadn't seen eachother in a long time but then she came to the last showroom and lovingly took my favorite necklace home. I'm so happy she's now the fortunate owner of the loopy necklace!
