Everything changed and it's amazing!

Hi lovelies! I haven't blogged here in a long time but I have a good explanation for this. I decided to start a new adventure, a new blog!

¡Hola hola! No he blogueado aquí en muuucho tiempo pero tengo una buena excusa: he decidido empezar una nueva aventura, ¡un nuevo blog!

This has been an amazing year for me full of crazy changes, incredible things have happened in my life. First I went trough kundalini yoga teacher training and started teaching. Then, we built a house!

Yep, we built an eco house, with a composting bathroom! We moved in May.

I also got a bit obsessed during the year with online businesses and marketing and devoted a lot of time to reading and learning about things like these. So, since I've changed a lot this year I found it was time for an online renewal, and though I still love crocheting and still get obsessed with it every other day, I decided to start a new blog called Oh happy life, were I deliver bold lessons on love, yoga and prosperity for soulful entrepreneurs, so they can build their happiest, most fulfilled lives around their dream businesses. So they can do what they love without suffering a nervous breakdown in between.

For the moment the page is only in English. Why? Because I only have one brain, two hands and I wanna stay sane and joyful while doing this. I don't know if it'll ever have a Spanish version, I don't discard it but I don't think it's gonna happen soon. I hope you wanna join me in this new journey. I'll be waiting for you with my arms and heart wide open. I've already been blogging for 5 weeks there and yesterday I published my first video ever. Yep, no turning back, I'm in Youtube teaching an easy breathing technique to release stress. I almost puked yesterday with terrifying stage fright but well, I try to keep experimenting things.

I'm so happy that I'm doing this and I hope we can still stay in touch via my new blog facebook page or any other social media. I'm currently turning into a twitter girl so I you can totally find me there and I'm keeping the Caracol handmade facebook page kinda updated with all the awesome crafty things I find online. This new blog doesn't mean I'm totally leaving my crafty self on the side, I'm still getting organized to see what will actually happen with my craft-bloggin', stay tuned!

Happy hugs,

Blooming with grace

Last Sunday I decided to start a new crocheting project (The Club of the Stitches really helps with gaining momentum) I decided to finally do the project almost every crochet blogger I know has done: The Blooming Flower Cushion by Lucy fromAttic 24. I wanted to do this for a long time but was always postponing the moment. It’s somehow funny I started this cushion particularly now cuase it made me think a lot.

I love something Yogi Bhajan said about prosperity “The best way to explain prosperity is to say it is like when a rosebud flowers and opens up, and it shares its fragrance. That’s the moment, which lasts a few days, when a rose flower is prosperous.” True prosperity happens when our own being comes into a state of flowering. Each of us has something unique to share. When we walk the path of our soul’s calling; that is prosperity.

I feel like I’m finally starting to blossom into my own self (It was about time!). For too long I’ve found myself wandering without knowing exactly where to go. But all this time I’ve thought about another beautiful quote: “Not all those who wander are lost”.

I always most days knew that wandering was something I had to do. I didn’t feel lost, I knew I was (and most certainly am) destined to wander. I felt very deep in my heart that it was a journey of discovering, of me truly emerging from within. Moving from a city to another and another, changing careers, dropping out of college, it all felt right to me, even if nobody would get it. It all felt like the path was already laid down for me, so I tried (a lot of times unsuccessfully) to stay calmed and not fall into despair (was particularly hard when I had no job, no school and no money). Now, several liters gallons of flower essences, a handful of healing therapies, nearly four years of yoga and meditation and a gazillion workshops later; I’m finally certain it’s been worth it (Amen!).

So, if you’re feeling lost and out of purpose be calmed, be patient, rest in the peacefulness of knowing you’re walking the path that was laid down for you and I promise you’ll find your answers. (Any or all of the things listed above might also help).

Ok, now blossoming is great, but doing it with grace that’s a whole other issue! I’ll be brutally honest here; I’m flowering with cero grace, NADA! For example our new home, it is awesome don’t get me wrong, but the transition is being oh-so-freakin’-scary.  I’m taking driving lessons cause we’re moving out of town and I don’t know how to drive (I could write an entire post on this matter)… We’ve ran out of money and the house is still missing a lot of stuff… I have to be überpatient with Ricardo when he starts getting panic attacks + I have to handle my own panic attacks. And believe me, most days I DO NOT handle them at all! I’m also in the (quite slow) process of blossoming a new “me” on the web. I’m trying to get organized and follow an agenda but let’s face it I’m nowhere near to being the control freak I wish I were in these situations. And I also get really scared and doubtful and feel like just letting it go. Why? Because blossoming is rarely graceful, it’s actually quite scary. From the outside it might seem like it’s easily flowing but most of the times it’s messy, smelly, and very uncomfortable! But you know something? IT’S OK.

Stop thinking everyone gets to do their stuff so easily and you don’t cause it ain’t true! Just take a deep breath.  No matter how things work out, you’re still gonna blossom your flowers and once you’ve recovered you’ll be able to enjoy the most incredible fragrance: your own.

Are you working on a new project?
May it blossom, my dearest, with or without grace.

Hugs,

Not all those who wander are lost”.

I'm pregnant

Haha Just kiddin’!! Ok, don’t leave; don’t be mad, (don’t get a stroke mom!)…Just a tiny joke. Well, I am sort of “pregnant”…. but just in a creative way ok? Keep reading and I’ll explain.

This year has been crazy so far, don’t ya think? There is a huge transformational energy going on. I know many of you are feeling this as well. Ever since the year started I’ve been in “birthing mode” for what seems to be the next step in my life (feels like a stairway to me!). We are building our own house + I’m finally going through the kundalini yoga teacher certification + I’ve been slowly gathering all the different splintered pieces of myself (that you might recall from my vocational doubt post) and joining them one by one, gently and with kindness. I knew I was not gonna figure it all out in an eyelash so I’m taking my time. Slowly (although not as slowly as I expected) things are starting to flow.

I love transformation!
This journey is amazing; I feel so much joy even though I’ve been constantly going through doubt and fear. I guess that’s what goes on when you’re growing. I know I haven’t been here a lot lately, (birthing doesn’t leave much space in my brains to figure out what to post!), but you’ve all supported me in ways you can’t possibly imagine. HUGE thanks for that. This is why you’re gonna be the firsts to know when my “pregnancy period” comes to an end, and of course you’ll be the guests of honor in the welcome-to-the-world party….Hope you will join me in this transition.

Today, I’m ready to share the first piece of this new puzzle, still in diapers but about to get out there….Our world is going through great change and we women are playing the main roles in this picture. I know you feel this too. We are gathering in grater, more joyous ways than ever. We are healing together, sharing our stories and our wisdom pearls with each other. Communities of women are gathering all over the world and online to figure out feminine ways to make sh** happen, a.k.a soulful businesses, personal transformation, holistic health, prosperity, and everyday solutions to our messy life. This is why I’ve dedicated the past months to building a cozy-little-soul-centered space for us women to unite in the blissfulness of STITCHING!! (read knitting-crocheting-embroidering)……Drumroll please…I present to you El Club de las Puntadas!! (The Club of the Stitches...something like that..)

It is my highest hope that the Club will turn out to be way more than just stitching. Its’ true purpose is to provide a sacred circle in which to gather and share our “nuggets of truth” in community. Sounds cool, right? Will you join us? Our first circle will take place on March 8 (women’s day) in the Sat Nam Yoga Center, downtown Oaxaca at 5 pm. If you want to join please RSVP here to get more details and the exact address J Hurray!!

Thank you for being round here and wait for the next big thing on my creative birthing! I’ll be pleased to share it all with you in the appropriate time…. (hint: our home is almost ready!).

MUCHO LOVE,

Estoy embarazada

Jajaja Just kidding! Caíste, ¿verdad? Espera, ¡no te vayas!, (¡mamá, no te infartes!)

¿Suena bien, no? ¿Te unes a nosotras?

Monday affirmation

English version below!

¿Te me unes?

Mucho love,

I can't believe we're starting the last weeek of the month already! January 2013 went so fast! Well, since the year started I thought about doing this: Posting an affirmation every Monday to start the week. This is part of my personal practice and I love it. I usually post a note in my desk so I can keep the affirmation in mind during the week. It has worked beautifully for me so I wanted to share it with you. Lets get going:

If you take care of others, why not take care of yourself? Sometimes we’re kind, loving and supportive to others but when it comes to us we end up being quite tyrant. We demand ourselves so much. I should be doing this or doing that …I shouldn’t be eating that creamy, delicious horrible, fattening cupcake….I should be working a lil’ harder, I should be earning (insert figures) …. Oh what the hell, I should be the freakin’ Mexican Martha Stewart!!
(Did I say that out loud??)

Well, I don’t know about you, but I often find myself being such a pain in the ass derriere! The fact is this is true for all of us sometimes (unless you’re Mother Theresa). We just beat ourselves up.

Well why don’t  we try telling ourselves this:
Dear cranky / neurotic/ biatch version of (your name),
Today I’m just gonna sleep early, watch a movie and give myself a little feet massage! I don’t have to go nowhere, I don’t have to be freakin Martha Stewart or anybody else, I’m me and I’m gorgeous. … I’m just gonna be kind with myself.

Wanna join me? What would you do this week to be kind with yourself? Tell me in the comments!
Do you know some peeps who can use a lil’ self kindness? Tweet it out!…or share it below!

Mucho love and big hugs,
