Hi! I'm so excited! Remember I told you I won a Zsazsazsu giveaway? Well, today my present arrived all the way from Belgium!! I was thrilled when I received the package in my door. And was more thrilled while opening it.

Preparing some autumn jewelry

Hi! Today I’ll show you a couple of “not so new” stuff. There are so many things I want to show you and tell you, but time runs so fast!

¡Hola! Hoy quiero mostrarles algunas cosas "no tan nuevas". Hay tantas cosas que quiero mostrarles y contarles, ¡pero el tiempo pasa tan rápido!

Well, here’s the latest addition to the I Cord Series. A new statement necklace, very autumn inspired! (I’m obviously starting to get the “fall mood”). It’s quite chunky but weightless as always, I love that about textile jewelry!

Bueno, aquí está la nueva pieza de la serie I cords. Un nuevo collar tejido, llamativo y por supuesto ¡inspirado en el otoño! (Evidentemente estoy empezando a adquirir el "mood de otoño"). El collar es bastante abultadito pero como siempre no pesa nada, ¡me encanta eso de la joyería textil!

And of course I had to crochet a matching bracelet…

Neon Color Block Statement Necklace

Hello! This is one of my latest creations...The Neon Color Block Statement Necklace! What I love the most about the necklace is the color combo and the fact that it's asymmetrical, I'm starting to have a fascination with asymmetrical necklaces. Plus, like all the crochet jewelry it is weightless, that's a relief when you like big necklaces!

¡Hola! Ésta es una de mis últimas creaciones...The Neon Color Block Statement Necklace! Lo que más me gusta de este collar es la combinación de colores y el hecho de que es asimétrico, estoy empezando a desarrollar una fascinación por los collares asimétricos. Además de que, como toda joyería de crochet, ¡no pesa nada, eso es un alivio cuando eres fan de los collares grandes!

It's crocheted with my favorite yarn...guess? Well, yes, again Sinfonia yarn, high quality 100% cotton yarn, I'm simply addicted to it, it's so soft and delicate...

Está tejido con mi estambre favorito....¿adivinan? Pues sí, otra vez Sinfonía, 100% algodón de la mejor calidad, es que simplemente soy adicta, es tan suave y delicado...

I've been VERY productive lately, so I have to update you guys with my new designs...I'll do so in the week.

Crochet Bangle Euphoria!

¡Hola chic@s! Espero que estén iniciando su semana muy bien. Hoy les quiero mostrar algunas cosillas nuevas de mi tienda de crochet. He estado bastante obsesionada con estas pulseras tejidas. ¿Qué opinan? Son una de mis creaciones favoritas. Son tan suaves y además disfruto mucho haciéndolas. Puedo jugar con los colores (y ya habrán notado que me gusta el ganchillo a todo color...), así que es muy divertido hacerlas.

Hello guys! I hope you're having a great week start. Today I want to show you some new listings in my crochet shop. I've been quite obsessed with these stackable bracelets. What do you think? They're really one of my favorite creations. They're super soft and I so enjoy crocheting them, I can play with colors (and you might have noticed I love colorful crochet....), so it's a lot of fun to make them!

Primero, las pulsras a ganchillo de caracol  con colores de halloween para estar acorde con la temporada de otoño que viene...

First, the stackable crochet bangles in halloween colors to match the upcomming season...

También están disponibles en gris oscuro y rosa coral. En realidad puedo hacer cualquier combinación de color que se les ocurra, pero estas son las que he subido hasta ahora.

They are also available in dark grey and coral pink. I can actually make any custom color combination, but these are listed so far.

Y por último, mi combinación favorita, ¡turquesa y rojo! Ésta fue originalmente un pedido especial, pero voy a seguir haciéndolas porque ¡simplemente me encanta el contraste de los colores!

Last but not least, my favorite colors, aqua and red! These were a custom order, but I'm just ganna keep doing them, I love the color contrast!

En mi último post les dije que estaban sucediendo cosas maravillosas en mi vida...pues, una de ellas es empezar a vender mi joyería textil por internet. Para serles sincera empecé bastante lento, ¡de hecho subí mi primer producto cuatro meses después de que abrí la tienda!. En un inicio no tenía ni la menor idea de como llevar una tienda en Etsy. Estaba más ocupada en vender localmente y me llevó un buen rato agarrarle un poco la onda a Etsy. Todavía tengo mucho que aprender, ¡pero ya no me siento en la oscuridad total! Además, por fin he empezado a dedicarle a mi tienda el tiempo que se merece y siento que realmente estoy mejorand. Bueno, sólo espero que a la gente por ahí le guste mi joyería de crochet. ¡Deseénme suerte! 

I told you in my last post that wonderful things are going on in my life...well, one of them is starting to sell my textile jewelry online. To be honest I had a very slow start, I actually listed my first item 4 months after I opened the shop! At the beginning I didn't have a clue on how to run an Etsy store, I was busy selling locally and it took a while before I started to get a notion on how Esty works. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel  I'm no longer in the dark. Plus, I'm finally giving the shop the time it deserves and I think I'm really improving. Well, I just hope that people out there like my crochet jewelry. Wish me luck!!

El collar/cuello Corona. (Odio pensar siempre los nombres en inglés porque luego en español suenan tan tontos...bueno, creo que suenan igual de tontos en inglés jajaja)

The Crown Collar / Necklace (I hate that I always think the names in English first, cause then they sound completely dumm in Spanish...well, I guess they sound dumm in English aswell hahaha)

Está tejido con "Sinfonía", algodón 100% en color gris oscuro. ¡Cómo amo esa hilaza!

 Crocheted in 100% dark grey "Sinfonía" cotton yarn. I so love this yarn!

New necklace!

Hello dears, well today I want to show you a new necklace I just listed in my shop! I hope you like it.

Se llama el Collar de cuentas Muy Grandes jajaja....¿se imaginan por qué? (Demonios...no soy muy creativa con eso de los nombres)

It's called the Very Big Beads Necklace haha...guess why? (Darn..I'm not very creative with names)

Supongo que sigo pensando en bebés porque éste es también un perfecto collar mordedor (¿mordelón, mordible? que más da)...aunque las cuentas de madera tienen una leve capa de barniz (las compré así, no estaba pensando precisamente en bebés mordelones)

I guess I'm still thinking of babys, cause this is also a perfect teething necklace...although the wooden beads have a light coat of varnish on it (I bought them like that, wasn't actually thinking about biting babys, they biting, not me biting them, gee i guess you can tell English isn't my first language haha)

Teething flower necklace *free pattern*

Hi! I hope you're having a great week start....One of my best friends is comming back after 4 months of being away...she is from the Canary Islands and went back home to give birth to her first baby. Now she's comming back and I'm finally meeting her lovely daughter in person. I'm so excited to see my friend again and the lovely little girl that has arrived! I made them a teething necklace to welcome them.

Hola! Espero que estén teniendo un buen inicio de semana....Una de mis mejores amigas está por regresar después de 4 meses de estar lejos...ella es de las Islas Canarias y se fue a casa para dar a luz a su primera bebé. Ahora viene de regreso y por fin voy a conocer a su hermosa hija en persona. ¡Estoy muy emocionada de ver a mi amiga otra vez y a la lindurita de niña que acaba de llegar! Les hice un collar para  morder (teething necklace, no se cómo se traduce), para darles la bienvenida.

Do you like it? I like that it is so simple and playful...I've prepared you the flower pattern for you, the flowers are small as you can see....

¿Les gusta? A mí lo que me gusta es que es sencillo pero divertido...Les preparé el patrón de la flor. Las flores son chicas como pueden ver...

Once I crocheted the 8 flowers I simply joined them with a chain....and made some knots at the ends....you can attach as many flowers as you wish in order to make a larger necklace. So, here's the pattern.

Una vez que tejí las 8 flores simplemente las uní con una cadena...E hice un par de nudos con el ganchillo en los finales....pueden añadir todas las flores que quieran para hacer un collar más largo. Bueno, aquí está el patrón.

*US TERMS**

Abbreviations: 

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

slp st - slip stitch

2 dc tog- two double crochets together (here's a video on how to do this)

Using color 1 make 4 ch, join with slp st into a ring.

Round 1: With same color, 1 ch, 4 sc in ring, join with slp st.

Round 2: Continue with color 2. 1 ch, 2 sc in ch below, 3 sc in each of next stitches, slp st with color 3 in 1st ch.

Round 3: Continue with color 3. [2ch, 2 dc tog in next 2 stitches, 2 ch, slp st in next stitch] x 5. To end slp st into slp st of previous round.

Abreviaturas:

c - cadena

mp - medio punto

pl - pilar (vareta o punto alto)

2 pl jun - dos pilares juntos (aquí hay un video donde muestran cómo hacerlos)

p desl - punto deslizado (o punto enano)

Usando el color 1 hacer 4 c, unir con p desl a 1er c para hacer un anillo.
1era vuelta: Con el mismo color, 1 c, 4mp en anillo, unir con p desl.
2da vuelta: Continuar con color 2. 1 c, 2 mp en la cadena debajo, 3 mp en cada uno de los puntos siguientes, unir con color 3 a 1er c con p desl.
3era vuelta: Continuar con colo 3. [2 c, 2 pl jun en los 2 puntos siguientes, 2 c, p desl en siguiente punto]
x 5
Para cerrar p desl en el p desl de la vuelta anterior.

Rain Art

Para serles sincera, he tenido unas vacaciones medio de locura....He disfrutado muchísimo ver el mar y a mis padres pero también he trabajado mucho porque estoy dando un taller toda esta semana y además voy a estar en una exhibición el jueves. Estoy muy contenta por todas las cosas maravillosas que están sucediendo, pero también algo cansada. Creo que voy a necesitar un buen descanso para reponerme de estas vacaciones...uff....

To tell you the truth, I've been having a crazy holiday.... I've enjoyed the beach and my parents a lot but have also worked very hard as I'm giving a workshop this whole week and I'm also gonna be in an exhibit on Thursday. I'm very happy for all the beautiful things that are happening, but I'm also quite tired. I guess I'll need a time off to settle down after this holiday...gee...

Pero como les decía, estoy tan feliz por la expo que viene el jueves....Es una muestra de arte y diseño y se llama Rain Art (lluvia de arte), ¿no es genial?...Estoy segura de que va a ser un buen evento. Estoy bastante nerviosa también porque ésta es la primera vez que voy a mostrar mi joyería de crochet en Cancún, así que ¡deseenme suerte! Va a ser una noche maravillosa y muy versátil también, va a haber pintura, escultura, vinil toys, diseño gráfico, fotografía, un bailarín urbano, lectura de poesía con performance, ¡y la joyería textil de Caracol handmade! Ah y también va a haber canapés y algo de beber, ¿qué más se puede pedir? jaja Mucha diversidad :) Me encanta la idea, nunca he estado en una muestra de este tipo, normalmente las expoventas o ferias de diseño a las que ido no tienen un programa así. Mi amiga Liz Barrera diseñó el poster, es genial ¿no?

But, as I was saying, I'm so happy for the showroom that's comming on Thursday... Itll be an art and design showroom and it's called Rain Art, isn't it beautiful?.... I'm sure it's gonna be a wonderful event. I'm quite nervous too, cause this'll be the first time I show my crochet jewelry in Cancun, so wish me luck, please! It looks like it'll be a wonderful night and a very versatile one too, there are going to be paintings, sculptures, vinil toys, graphic design, photography, an urban dancer, and poetry reading with performance too, and Carcacol's handmade's jewelry! Oh and catering...couldn't ask for anything better! haha....A lot of diversity :) I'm loving the idea, I've never been to an exhibition like that, normally the showrooms or craft fairs I go to don't have such a  program. My friend Liz Barrera designed the poster, isn't it great?

Aquí está el outfit completo. Desde que llegué mi pelo es un desastre, la sal y la humedad lo han convertido en un monstruo ingobernable, ya lleva 10 días de anarquía total. Ya dejé de luchar con él, lo dejo que se esponje y se enrede felizmente.

Here is the full outfit for today. My hair has been a disaster since I arrived here, the salty water and the humidity have turned it into an uncontrollable monster, it's been 10 days of total anarchy. I stopped fighting with it, I let it sponge and get meshed happily.

Christmas in July!

¡Hola, hola! Pues hoy les tengo un par de buenas noticias. Primero, en Etsy hay algo que se llama Christmas in July, es decir Navidad en julio, y básicamente se trata de hacer ofertones en el mes de julio. Y yo como acabo de empezar con la tienda en Etsy y no me pienso quedar atrás, ¡estoy ofreciendo 10% DE DESCUENTO en toda la tienda hasta el 31 de julio!

Hi there! Today I have a couple of good news. First, there is something going on in Etsy called Christmas in July, it's a sale which consists basically in shop owners offering discounts or free shippings! As I have just opened my Esty shop and don't wanna be left behind, I'll be offering 10% OFF in the whole store till July 31!!

La otra buena nueva es ¡que me voy a la playa! Oh sí, me voy a ver el mar y a mis padres que viven en la costa caribeña, a unos 20 min de Cancún, ya verán qué lugar más maravilloso... ¿Por que no se creerán que voy a dejar de bloguear, verdad? ¡No!, antes muerta que sencilla y que abandonar mi blog. Seguiré manteniendo el blog y la tienda de manera normal, como voy a estar en casa de mis padres puedo hacer envíos desde ahí sin problema. Además les escribiré con vista al mar, qué rico. El sábado me voy a la Ciudad de México y el martes vuelo a Cancún. Así que tal vez regrese hasta el miércoles al blog, sólo voy a estar al pendiente de la tienda en estos días.

The other good news is that I'm going to the beach!! Oh yeah! I'm going to see the ocean and my parents who live in the caribbean seashore, about 20min away from Cancun, you'll see what a lovely place... Cause you're not thinking I'm leaving my blog, are you? No way! I'll keep the blog and the shop running, and as I'm going to be at my parents house I can still make shippings without any trouble. Besides, I'll write you with an ocean view, how wonderful. I leave to Mexico City on saturday and to Cancun on tuesday, so I'll might be away from the blog till wednesday, I'm only gonna check on the shop these days.

Lo único malo de esto es que me voy solita y extrañaré mucho a mi querido Ricardo y mi adorada Mimiringa, espero que sobrevivan....Mimiri tiene un gran instinto, me tiene sin ciudado, pero Richard....jajaja Ay, me hubiera gustado llevármelos a los dos pero no se pudo :(

The only bad thing about all this is that I'm travelling alone, I'm gonna miss my lovely Ricardo and my adorable Mimiringa a lot. I hope they survive....Mimiri has a great instict, I don't worry about her but Richard.....haha I wish they'd have come along  with me but we couldn't...:(

Hoy tengo pocas palabras en realidad, nada más voy a mostrarles un anillo nuevo. A ver qué opinan... Los puntos cafés son bordados, la base es de pewter y es ajustable así que le queda a cualquiera.
