Neon, neon, neon!

Hello lovely people! How are you doing today? I wanna show you my latest necklace, The Neon Dots Necklace....I have a bit of a neon osession lately...


¡Hola! ¿Cómo les trata la vida hoy? Yo quiero enseñarles mi último collar, el Collar de Lunares Neon (¿?).....Últimamente tengo una leve obsesión por los colores fosforescentes (neon).

The black part is crocheted with cotton yarn

La parte negra es crochet, y está hecha con hilaza de algodón.

And the dots are little neon pompons... :)!

¡Y los lunares son pequeños pompones fosforescentes.... :)!

I did some homemade pompons aswell, bigger ones, check out this tutorial to learn how...

También hice unos pompones caseros, más grandes, checa este tutorial para aprender cómo hacerlos...

Unfortunately the photos aren't the best, I'm hoping to change them soon...

Desgraciadamente las fotos no son muy buenas, espero cambiarlas pronto...

I've already made some more necklaces with other neon colors, and I'm making earings aswell...hope to take photos this week to show you.

How to make a pompon!

¡Hola! Me puse a hacer un tutorial ésta mañana....¡Cómo hacer pompones caseros! A mí me encanta y me obsesiona hacerlos. Lo mejor es que son realmente sencillos y rápidos de hacer, y aquí les mostraré paso a paso cómo.

Hi! I prepared a tutorial this morning for you....How to make pompons! I love to make them and I must tell you they get me a bit obsessed once I start. The best thing is they're really easy and quick to make, and I'm going to show you how step by step.

Usé estambre neón para éstos.

I used some neon yarn for this one. 

Bueno, empecemos...Sólo necestias estambre y tijeras.

Well, lets get started...All you'll need is yarn, and scissors.

Empieza a envolver dos de tus dedos con estambre.

Start wraping the yarn arround 2 of your fingers.

Sigue haciéndolo hasta que se vea más o menos así:

Keep doing it until it looks more or less like this:

Ahora corta el estambre dejándole un pedazo largo.

Now cut your yarn leaving a long tail

Pasa el hilo largo entre tus dedos así:

Bring the tail through yout fingers like this:

Ahora debes pasar el hilo otra vez entre tus dedos, esta vez por la parte de abajo. Puedes usar una pluma o algo así para ayudarte.

Then you have to make the tail pass throug your fingers again, this time through the lower part. You can use a pen or something to help you out.

Pasa el hilo entre tus dedos por última vez y haz un nudo sencillo con el hilo sobrante y la primera vuelta que hiciste.

Pass it through your fingers one last time and make a simple knot with the tail and  the yarn you passed the first time.

Lentamente saca todo de entre tus dedos...Obtendrás algo así:

Now slowly pull the whole thing out of your fingers...you'll get something like this:

Separa los hilos un poco de manera que te quede una forma más circular. Voltéala y jala el hilo que cuelga para que se apriete. Luego haz otro nudo, por si las dudas.

Separate the yarn a little bit till you get a circular shape. Turn it and pull the tail so it gets tighter. Then make another knot with the tail, just in case.

Ahora mete las tijeras entre los "bucles" que forman al pompón y empieza a cortarlos.

Now put your scissors between the loops that form the pompon and start cutting them.

Te quedará un pompón raro como éste.

You'll get a wierd pompon like this.

Ahora sólo tienes que hacerle un corte de cabello a tu pompón

Now all you have to do is give your pompon a haircut

Y TA RAAAAÁN! (Espero que seas mejor peluquera de pompones que yo)

And TA DAAAA! (I hope you are a better pompon hairdresser than me)
